Asian Media Awards 2021 Shortlist Unveiled

The 2021 Asian Media Awards finalists have been announced ahead of the 9th ceremony.

The shortlist recognises the work of journalists, writers, broadcasters and bloggers from across the UK.

It also highlights the contribution of media professionals in the creative and marketing industry.

Winners will be announced at the Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester on Friday October 29.

The event, the first for two years, will be held in accordance with government restrictions at the time.

During a period of constant upheaval and changes, the media industry has been focussed on delivering trusted news and content for communities from all backgrounds and cultures.

Throughout the pandemic there has been an effort to challenge misconceptions as well as highlight injustices both here and across the world.

The 2020 ceremony was held digitally with a select number of categories honoured. Winners from the 2020 ceremony will be invited to attend the 2021 ceremony.


The Asian Media Awards return on Friday October 29 at the Emirates Old Trafford Manchester.

Previous recipients of an Asian Media Award include Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Waris Hussein, Art Malik, Mehdi Hasan, Nina Wadia, Anita Rani, Shobna Gulati & Faisal Islam.

The University of Salford are Premier Partners to the Asian Media Awards.
