Finalists Congratulated Ahead of Asian Media Awards

The Asian Media Awards has received a message of support from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.

This year’s ceremony takes place on Wednesday 25 October at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate.

A message from Matt Hancock MP, Minister of State for Digital read,I am writing to you on behalf of the Prime Minister.

“I would just like to say congratulations to everyone involved with this year’s Asian Media Awards, particularly the nominees and those who have organised the event, helping it to grow since 2013.

“I applaud the huge contribution that Asian journalists, actors, directors, producers and bloggers make – both in front of the camera and off screen – to reflect the rich cultural diversity of the UK.

“These awards are important in raising the profile of your work and making the industry realise how much there is to gain from a representative and diverse media.”


This year’s Asian Media Awards returns to the Hilton Manchester Deansgate on Wednesday October 25 2017.

Previous recipients of an Asian Media Award include Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Waris Hussein, Art Malik, Mehdi Hasan, Nina Wadia and Anita Anand.

The University of Salford are premier sponsors and partners to the event include ITV, MediaCom, M.E.N, Press Association Training & Primesight.

The official Charity Partners for 2017 are Sightsavers.
