New look Asian Media Award unveiled in Manchester

The new look Asian Media Award for 2016 has been revealed.

This year’s Asian Media Awards will take place at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate in October. Before then a Shortlist Announcement will take place in September at ITV, the London Studios.

The new award, which has been designed for the 2016 ceremony, features the distinctive ‘M’ and a striking blue tint.

It was launched in a special photo shoot which took place at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate featuring Manchester based model and actress Afshan Azad.

The AMA’s are attended by the leading members of the media and entertainment industry and bring together high profile professionals and companies from across the UK.

The ceremony returns to the Manchester Hilton Deansgate for the fourth year. The hotel is housed in the 47-story iconic Beetham Tower which is the city’s most distinctive skyscraper attracting visitors from across the world.

Hilton Manchester Deansgate’s General Manager, John McLaughlin said, “We’re thrilled that this year’s Asian Media Awards will be taking place at Hilton Manchester Deansgate.

Afshan said, “I am really proud of my home city of Manchester and it is wonderful that the ceremony is taking place at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate in October.

“Each year the event attracts guests from across the world and I am looking forward to meeting friends and colleagues from across the media world again in October.

 

The 2016 AMA awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 27 October at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate with the official shortlist announcement being held at ITV, the London Studios on Monday 19 September.

Previous AMA recipients have included, amongst others, Ranvir Singh, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Mehdi Hasan, Waris Hussein, Nina Wadia and Anita Anand.

The deadline for all nominations for this year’s awards is 4pm Thursday 25 August 2016.

The University of Salford are premier sponsors to the 2016 events and partners include ITV, MediaCom, Press Association Training and the Manchester Evening News.

The official charity partners for 2016 are The Asian Circle and Oxfam.
